National Day 2026 in Poissy (78): fireworks canceled, a music evening going ahead.

The town of Poissy (78) marks Bastille Day 2026 with a host of activities. On the program: games for young and old and a musical evening, on July 13, 2026, despite the fireworks being cancelled.

Because of the heatwave conditions, the prefectural decree temporarily banning fireworks, and the additional advisory requested from the departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS) returning an unfavorable assessment: Poissy and Carrières-sous-Poissy regretfully cancel the fireworks display scheduled for Monday, July 13, 2026. The mayors of the two towns express their solidarity with the firefighters serving across the country. The festive musical evenings will proceed, in accordance with prefectural measures.

As every year on the same date, July 14, France celebrates its National Day. By way of reminder, this date commemorates the storming of the Bastille, a symbolic milestone in the revolutionaries' victory over the monarchists. Likewise, the National Day is an occasion for communities across the country to mark the occasion with a series of activities: street dances, firefighters’ balls, and, above all, fireworks!

As is customary for the Fête nationale, the town of Poissy in the Yvelines (78) is once again staging its traditional and spectacular fireworks display. But beware: like many municipalities in Île-de-France, it will be launched the night before, on July 13, 2026, and not on the actual day. Don’t mix up the dates, or you risk disappointing yourself—and your kids!

As night falls, spectators will be able to settle along the banks of the Seine, near the Old Bridge of Poissy, to enjoy a dazzling light and music show launched from the middle of the river. But the festivities start long before... Discover the program!
