Looking for a great place to do your Christmas shopping in Paris? Head to Place Saint-Michel in the 6th arrondissement, where Marchés Cordonnier is setting up its Christmas market from December 5, 2025, to January 5, 2026. It's a wonderful place to discover original gifts from 30 exhibitors from France and elsewhere, in an authentic and friendly atmosphere.
It must be said that this Parisian Christmas market has plenty to offer visitors in search of quality crafts. Located on one of the capital's most iconic squares, a stone's throw from Notre-Dame and the Latin Quarter, this market boasts a carefully selected range of artisans and designers. You'll find customizable jewelry, confectionery, wooden objects, handmade clothing, and designer creations, all in a festive and welcoming atmosphere.
The history of this market goes back a long way. Since 1869, nine years after the inauguration of the Fontaine Saint-Michel, the Marchés Cordonnier have been part of the Parisian landscape. This family business, passed down from generation to generation, has been perpetuating the tradition of quality markets for over 150 years. Today, Thomas and Thibaut Cordonnier are continuing this legacy by adapting their markets to modern challenges: sustainability, support for the local economy, and the transmission of know-how.
For the 2025 edition, the organizers have focused on three essential values. First, responsibility and sustainability with an eco-responsible approach: short supply chains, selective sorting, and the elimination of single-use plastics. All exhibitors adhere to the eco-responsible retailer charter and favor reusable or recyclable gift packaging. Second, promoting Made in France with a priority given to French artisans and producers, while supporting young designers. Finally, openness and conviviality to create a place for sharing where French artisanal excellence dialogues with creations from elsewhere.
Among the 30 exhibitors present, three artisan designers stand out in particular. Lunasol offers modular jewelry in silver and semi-precious stones, entirely made in Paris by Charles Munoz, inspired by his travels in South America. Mangobeat® presents an eco-friendly passive speaker made from mango wood, invented by Nidhal Douik and winner of four awards at the Concours Lépine. Signet d'Art, created by Claude Safar 35 years ago, offers 24-carat gold-plated metal bookmarks, handcrafted in France and now on display at the Louvre Museum and the Palace of Versailles.
Alongside these leading designers, you'll also find honey producers, confectioners, leather craftsmen, Italian glassmakers, and leather goods makers. It's a real hub for finding original gifts for Christmas 2025. Family entertainment is not forgotten, with Santa Claus making an appearance, all in an eco-conscious spirit with reusable decorations and an emphasis on natural materials.
The Place Saint-Michel Christmas market is open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with adjusted hours on December 24, 25, and 31, as well as January 1 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Admission is free and the official opening will take place on Monday, December 8 at 5 p.m. To follow the latest news and events, visit the Marchés Cordonnier Instagram and TikTok social media accounts.
