At the tail end of October, an eerie mood settles among the ancient stones of Royaumont Abbey… On October 30 and 31, 2026, the beautiful Abbaye de Royaumont, a monastery founded by Saint Louis, will don spooky decorations and a misty atmosphere for the Toussaint holidays, for Halloween. Once a hospital during the Great War, the abbey is brimming with ghosts eager to come out and give you a playful haunting.
This historic site in Asnières-sur-Oise, in the Val d'Oise, is now a center for art and history, offering exhibitions, concerts, shows and meetings throughout the year... But all these activities can't prevent the past from resurfacing from time to time...
The Halloween season is especially ripe for these eerie phenomena. During the All Saints' Day break, at the end of October, Royaumont Abbey also transforms to plunge visitors into this spooky yet playful atmosphere. The Abbey offers several animations and special events, to be enjoyed with friends or family during this Halloween period.
With the abbey boasting a beautiful kitchen garden that flourishes in the autumn, the Foundation invites young visitors to carve one of its pumpkins in the large greenhouse. Kids can take home their creation along with the pumpkin scraps to make soup or a cake at home (recipes provided).
Each year on All Saints’ Day, Royaumont Abbey becomes the stage for uncanny phenomena. Long-lost voices seem to return, unresolved mysteries resurface... Tonight, the spirits of the past are demanding the truth. Come join us to crack a murder committed at the abbey in 1794 and help a soul finally lay to rest!
A feast for the senses and the budget alike, presented as a dinner buffet: a parade of hot and cold dishes in one of the abbey’s most stunning vaulted halls. For Halloween, the chef and his brigade offer a gourmet buffet that recalls Sunday markets, with stalls piled high with local, seasonal produce, transformed by the deft hands of seasoned chefs.
Dine where indulgence isn’t a vice and let yourself be swept away by the team’s deliciously eerie creations, such as the “bloody tiramisu.” A festive meal in a warm, relaxed atmosphere…
