For the 2026 Heritage Days, the town of Sucy-en-Brie is offering a wide array of tours and meetings. It’s a chance to discover the town from a new perspective, on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20.

The Fort de Sucy is a 19th-century military edifice with a fine history: built in 1879 to reinforce the protection of Paris after the siege of 1870, the fort has come down to us in perfect condition, with all its original features. The Fort is one of Sucy-en-Brie's landmarks, but it's not its only asset!

Castle, orangery, church, chapel, vineyards, beehives, art galleries: there are many treasures to be found in this small town in the Val-de-Marne region, south-east of Paris.

For these 43rd Heritage Days, the 19 and 20 September 2026, treat yourself to a delightful stroll to discover Sucy-en-Brie. The town of Val-de-Marne boasts a rich history and numerous attractions that should captivate both young and old!

Several visits and activities are organized throughout the weekend, to help you discover and appreciate this town, whose history goes back to the Neolithic period. Take a look at the Heritage Days program, and save the date in your diary, so you don't miss a thing.

  • Images from Sucy: from village to city

Since the end of World War II, the Paris suburbs have undergone rapid development. Villages that had retained a rural character have transformed into suburban townships, welcoming new populations and evolving into full-fledged cities. Sucy-en-Brie illustrates this perfectly, growing from about 6,000 residents in 1945 to nearly 28,000 today.

The Société Historique et Archéologique de Sucy-en-Brie set out to document these changes by looking back over time, using old maps and aerial photographs widely distributed by the National Institute of Geographical Information. From Sucy’s first map in 1691 to today’s aerial views—and including the Napoleonic cadastral records—you’ll see how Sucy evolved over the centuries into a genuine urban center.
