If you're keen to unravel the mysteries of France's great institutions, then the Cour des Comptes is a must. Founded by Napoleon1st in 1807, this institution is known for overseeing the regulation of public accounts, the State, national public establishments, public companies and social security.
This building, located in the Palais Cambon, has been very well preserved, allowing us to admire some very fine works dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. The building was built specifically to house the Cour des Comptes (French Court of Audit): its architecture reflects this institution, through various symbols and allegories that the discerning eye will be able to decipher.
To discover this magnificent building, and the institution it houses, you'll have to push open the doors of the Palais Cambon, listed as a Historic Monument, which awaits you in the 1st arrondissement of Paris.
