The 2026 Heritage Days programme at Citéco, Paris’s City of the Economy

  • Kourtney Roy – All Inclusive: A cross‑section of views on globalized tourism

On the occasion of European Heritage Days, the Cité de l’Économie invites visitors to discover All Inclusive. Cross-cutting perspectives on globalized tourism, an exhibition devoted to Canadian photographer Kourtney Roy, whose work was featured at the Rencontres d’Arles in 2025.

Set up in the museum’s grand hall, the show gathers about thirty photographs that plunge the public into a world that is at once vibrant, cinematic, and offbeat. Between idyllic beaches, luxurious hotels, and postcard-perfect landscapes, Kourtney Roy revisits the imagery of travel and holidays that fuel our collective imagination.

Yet behind the image’s alluring aesthetic lie deeper questions. Through playful, uncanny staging, the artist exposes the paradoxes of contemporary tourism and invites viewers to reexamine destinations, consumption patterns, and the dream of escape that the travel industry sells.

In dialogue with the photographs, the Cité de l’Économie invites visitors to explore the major economic issues surrounding globalized tourism: environmental impacts, social inequalities, marketing strategies, and the reshaping of territories. An original opportunity to fuse artistic insight with civic reflection.

Visitors can also take part in rapid mediations led by the team of guides to discover the backstage of the artist’s work and deepen their interpretation of the pieces.

Last chance to visit the exhibition before it closes on September 20.

  • Discover a castle in the very heart of Paris

On the occasion of European Heritage Days, step inside the Hôtel Gaillard, a striking neo-Renaissance palace inspired by the Loire châteaux and tucked in the heart of Paris’s 17th arrondissement. Once the home of banker Émile Gaillard and later a Banque de France branch for nearly a century, this historic monument now houses the Cité de l’Économie, Europe’s first museum dedicated entirely to the economy.

Throughout the visit, you can wander through the landmark spaces of the former bank, admire the remarkably preserved interiors, and enter the impressive vaults.

The permanent exhibit also offers a fresh, hands-on take on major economic mechanisms, with numerous interactive devices, playful experiments, and participatory workshops. Barter, money, markets, financial crises, and consumption—economic concepts come alive through manipulations, simulations, and content accessible to everyone, from age six.

Between heritage discovery and innovative cultural experience, the Cité de l’Économie offers a unique visit that helps you understand the world around us in a new light while exploring one of the capital’s most distinctive buildings.
