Heritage Days are a chance to rediscover the capital’s treasures. In Paris, the Saint-Stéphane Greek Cathedral is taking part this weekend, Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, 2026.

This weekend, we go out! Take advantage of the Heritage Days 2026 in Paris to discover monuments we hadn’t yet known. So, off to the 16th arrondissement of Paris, for a free guided tour of the Greek Cathedral Saint-Stephane (also known as Saint-Etienne Cathedral by some). A hidden gem often overlooked by locals, which will be open for discovery on 19 and 20 September 2026.

The seat of Greek Orthodoxy in Paris, Saint-Stéphane Cathedral hosted the wedding ofÉdith Piaf and Théo Sarapo in 1962, as well as the funeral of singer Maria Callas in 1977. In addition to these "celebrity" events, Saint-Stéphane also marks an essential architectural milestone in the appropriation and adaptation ofByzantine art by French architects and decorators in the second half of the 19th century. It was inaugurated in 1895.

For Heritage Days 2026, the cathedral is opening its doors free of charge to all curious visitors, inviting them to explore its treasures, its history, and its culture. To learn more about this cultural event, check out the program organized by the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint-Stephen.
