The Journées du Patrimoine 2025 (Heritage Days 2025) will unveil a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Paris Opera sets at the Ateliers Berthier on Saturday, September 20. The highlight of the show? An incomparably rich collection of costumes.

This autumn, we're celebrating the cultural wealth of the City of Light with the Journées du Patrimoine in Paris, on September 20 and 21, 2025. In the midst of the excitement, discover the hidden treasures of the capital's emblematic monuments, as well as lesser-known treasures such as private mansions and historic theaters. Let yourself be transported through the ages as you visit places steeped in history and captivating anecdotes. Museums, art galleries and cultural spaces open their doors free of charge, offering a fascinating insight into French art and heritage. For this year's Journées du Patrimoine, the magic of Paris is more than ever ... The Ateliers Berthier, veritable jewels of Parisian cultural heritage, join the party on Saturday, September 20, 2025! Listed as a Monument Historique since 1990, they were built by Charles Garnier and Gustave Eiffel to house the Paris Opera's scenery workshops. Today, the Ateliers Berthier play a dual role: preserving the know-how of set manufacturing and renovation, and housing a priceless treasure trove. This historic showcase contains no fewer than 60,000 pieces of sumptuous costumes and accessories! Each piece bears witness to an era, a style, that embellished the legendary performances of artists on the stages of the Palais Garnier andOpéra Bastille.
