Heritage Days, one of the flagship moments on Paris’s cultural calendar, returns every September. At this unmissable event, museums, castles, monuments, and even places usually closed to the public welcome you with open arms to unveil their secrets through a programme of visits often free as well as animations and new workshops. A fresh way to rediscover our heritage from a different angle! Don’t miss the dates for the next edition, which will take place over the weekend of September 19-20, 2026.
As always, Paris and its region answer the call! In fact, the Heritage Days are also a chance to dive into the heart of Île-de-France heritage, often less known and yet well worth the detour. A Navigo-friendly escape to the soul of the Seine-et-Marne, the city of Meaux could be a great pick for a cultural stopover!
Its heritage takes us on a journey from antiquity to the present day, throughmedieval times and the First World War. For those with a sweet tooth, don't forget that this is also the land of Brie de Meaux, considered the king of cheeses. All the more reason to take advantage of the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) to explore this city of fascinating treasures!
