Great news for history and heritage enthusiasts! The Journées du Patrimoine are back on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026 with two new days that promise to be enriching. Each year at this time, this major cultural event invites the public to step through the doors of numerous museums and monuments across France.
In Paris and elsewhere in the Île-de-France region, institutions, castles, unusual, hidden and little-known places, cemeteries and artists' homes are all taking part in the event, with guided or self-guided tours.

If you live in Seine-et-Marne and would like to discover an unusual place, then head for the commune of Villenoy to push open the doors of the famous conical anti-aircraft shelter. Described as a unique monument on a national scale, the Villenoy conical air-raid shelter was awarded the Heritage of Regional Interest label in November 2021.
Built in 1939-1940, this air-raid shelter is notable for its 18-meter-tall cone-shaped silhouette. The cone can be seen from the far end of the City Hall Park. Another highlight? The shelter has eight levels and could accommodate up to 120 people.
Many anecdotes and several secrets surround the Villenoy conical anti-aircraft shelter. Come discover them during the tours offered as part of the European Heritage Days on September 19, 2026.
Inauguration of the World War II History Center
Come discover the brand-new History Hub 39-45: a permanent exhibition space dedicated to the Second World War (the François Daveau Space), situated beside the cone-shaped anti-aircraft shelter listed as a historic monument.

- Découverte de l’exposition « Alerte : éclats ! » du photographe Valentin Disant, retraçant les coulisses du tournage ;
- Reconstitution historique, campement militaire US de la Seconde Guerre mondiale et animations présentés par l’association DZ Memory
- Visites en réalité virtuelle de l’abri conique antiaérien ;
- Visites libres du rez-de-chaussée et du sol de l'abri conique antiaérien.
