The Journées du Patrimoine is the yearly chance to discover the little gems hidden in our beautiful capital. Beyond the well-known museums and the institutions that open their doors free of charge, truly quirky treasures and hidden spots invite you to discover them for a weekend, on 19 and 20 September 2026. Thanks to guided tours, walks or workshops, explore the Paris méconnu in good company!
Just off the Parc Monceau, a private mansion houses one of the capital's most discreet museums - that of Pharmacy! Built by Gaston Menier, grandson of the founder of the pharmaceutical drugstores and later of Chocolats Menier, the building now houses theOrdre National des Pharmaciens, as well as a gallery of instruments used at the time, in a small museum well worth the detour. A therapeutic arsenal of 755 jars is still on display, with substances that were supposed to cure diseases, but which we can scarcely imagine being used today!
The mansion's architecture is exceptional, with a beautiful Norman-Moorish pavilion, the only one of its kind in the capital. And let's not forget the period staircase, with its black woodwork and shimmering mosaics depicting the gods of Olympus.

A guided tour of the National Order of Pharmacists
For the 43rd edition of European Heritage Days, the Order will offer visitors, by appointment, a guided tour of its museum. You’ll discover the profession’s history through its collections, notably the Menier droguier, which brings together the essential drugs of the therapeutic arsenal in nearly 800 blown-glass jars. The tour will also delve into the institution’s architectural heritage, a reflection of the eclectic townhouses built in the late Second Empire. These buildings stand as priceless witnesses to an era and a way of life where leisure and entertainment held a privileged place, as illustrated by the Théâtre des Folies Ruysdaël. Finally, this year the institution hosts works by street artist Codex Urbanus, created especially for the occasion. Along the route, you’ll encounter hybrid, fantastical creatures that weave together street art and pharmacy.
