Heritage Days 2026 are back for their 43rd edition, and in Paris it’s the perfect time to discover a beautiful hidden garden, where a range of activities awaits you on the weekend of September 19–20, 2026.

The Journées du Patrimoine is one of the highlights of September in Paris and the Île-de-France region. This not-to-be-missed event on the European cultural calendar is eagerly awaited every year by history buffs, art enthusiasts and the curious thirsty for discovery. Over the course of an exceptional weekend, tourists and local residents alike are invited to explore the treasures of our heritage through an attractive program of visits, workshops and events, many of them free of charge.

Many different types of venue play their part in each edition: cultural establishments including museums and monuments, major institutions, places of worship, ministries, libraries and much more. Everyone can find a good deal to suit their passion, and those who like to get off the beaten track can discover the little-known places and exceptional visits that await you in this new edition.

During this exceptional weekend of September 19–20, 2026, you’ll have the chance to explore the hidden treasures of Parisian hospitals. For the 43rd edition of Heritage Days, Hôpital Broca is opening its doors and coming into view for you. The health facility, located in the 13th arrondissement, stands on the former site of the Cordelières convent, whose ruins remain to this day. Here is the program awaiting you:

  • Guided tour with commentary of the ruins of the Cordelières Convent (Broca Hospital)

    Guided tour of the Broca hospital garden and the ruins of the Cordelières Convent led by Françoise Blon, a member of the Croulebarbe neighborhood council in the 13th arrondissement.

  • Object memory writing workshop (and solidarity flea market)

    A solidarity flea market organized by VMEH and the Culture and Animation team to support an initiative for hospitalized patients, followed by a writing workshop "Memory of Objects" at 11 a.m., using items from the flea market selected by patients and visitors.

  • BB15 Jazz Concert

    BB5 is a jazz orchestra that reinterprets the classics of the great big-band repertoire in the spirit of Duke Ellington.
