Visit to the Gainsbourg House Museum with free entry to the Gainsbarre
To celebrate its third anniversary, Maison Gainsbourg is delighted to team up once again with the European Heritage Days, presenting a tailor-made program.
After more than 32 years in the making, Maison Gainsbourg has, since its opening in September 2023, established itself as a must-visit cultural venue in Paris, dedicated to transmitting Serge Gainsbourg’s work. Initiated and led by his daughter Charlotte, the project offers a deep dive into the artist’s creative and personal world.
For its third participation, Maison Gainsbourg invites visitors to a free tour of the "Musée seul" route at 14 rue de Verneuil on Saturday evening, September 19, from 7 p.m.
Immerse yourself in the life and career of the artist through a chronological parcours made of 400 original objects and a selection of rare, unseen archives. At the end of the journey, discover the temporary exhibition dedicated to the title "Je t’aime… moi non plus." The experience continues at Gainsbarre, the intimate restaurant and cocktail bar, and concludes in the library-shop, which offers various collections to evoke the artist’s rich universe.
For this edition, devoted to the theme "Photography Heritage," the museum visit will include conversations with mediators, who will offer image stops focusing on specific objects from the permanent collection.
The "Musée seul" itinerary and Gainsbarre are open to all (no reservation required, subject to availability on the evening of the event).
The "Maison & Musée" itinerary is only accessible to ticket holders. Until September 14 inclusive, sign up on Maison Gainsbourg’s website to try to win two "Maison & Musée" invitations. Given the limited number of places, a draw will take place on September 15.

- At 5 bis: the historic house where Serge Gainsbourg lived for 22 years, an iconic interior preserved in its original state since his passing in 1991. The visit unfolds to an original soundtrack crafted by Soundwalk Collective in collaboration with Charlotte Gainsbourg.
- Opposite, at number 14: a museum tracing the artist’s life and career through a chronological route comprised of 400 original objects and a selection of rare, unseen archival material. At the end of the route, visitors can explore the temporary exhibition dedicated to the title "Je t’aime… moi non plus." The experience continues at the Gainsbarre, a dimly lit restaurant and cocktail bar, and finishes in the bookstore where multiple collections illuminate the artist’s rich universe.
For this edition focused on the theme "Heritage of Photography," the museum tour will feature interactions with guides who will pause at specific objects from the permanent collection to spark dialogue and reflection.
