Heritage Days 2026: Go behind the scenes at RATP in Île-de-France

RATP pulls back the curtain on all its secrets with a series of tours and activities across the Île-de-France departments on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, 2026, for Heritage Days.

For Parisians and the Île-de-France residents, public transport is part of daily life. The metro, bus, tram—so familiar that you might think you know them by heart. And yet the RATP still has plenty of secrets to reveal. The company invites you to take part in special tours along the various lines of its network, on September 19 and 20, 2026, to mark the 43rd edition of the Heritage Days.

If you've never taken part in this great cultural and popular celebration, get ready to be seduced. Launched for the first time in France in 1984, the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) return every September to open the doors of thousands of sites all over France. From the country's most famous monuments to hidden curiosities in the depths of a village, visitors enjoy a weekend of discovery.

If you're in one of theÎle-de-France departments during these Heritage Days, don't miss the RATP tours. Please note that many of these tours are only available with registration.

    On the occasion of European Heritage Days and Mobility Week, from September 16 to 22, 2026, Île-de-France Mobilités invites you to a guided tour of the Bus Operations Center in your region to discover the behind-the-scenes world of transport, including a visit to the bus depot, an immersion into how the transport system works, insight into the roles within the industry, and many other enriching activities!

    Meet our teams at the Domont Bus Operations Center on Saturday, September 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. or from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Visit to the Malakoff Bus Depot

    Visit the bus maintenance centre and discover its history: 150 years of the depot and how it has evolved over time. You’ll also get to explore an electric depot and the kids’ activity stand.

  • A ride aboard a vintage SC10 bus

    Take a ride aboard an 1980s SC10 bus departing from the RATP Malakoff Bus Center (Hauts-de-Seine).

    Note: this is a ride only, not a tour of the RATP Bus Center. (Anyone already registered with RATP for the Center tour automatically gets the ride, with no separate Sauvabus registration needed.).
