The Heritage Days are back! On September 19–20, 2026, we’re getting ready for a weekend brimming with surprises through a broad program of cultural outings—many of them free. Guided tours, unusual activities, workshops for kids and adults, exceptional openings, these are what await us at the heart of our heritage.

In the Île-de-France region, museums, ministries, embassies, fashion houses, temples of craftsmanship, churches, libraries — and much more — they’re swinging open their doors to let us explore our heritage from every angle. No way to miss this 43rd edition, which promises a wealth of cultural tips and experiences all weekend long.

In fact, why not take the opportunity to conquer the castles of the Île-de-France region? Yes, the Paris region has no shortage of these historic treasures, and the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) are the perfect opportunity to discover them through a special program.

    The Château de Bourron sits in Seine-et-Marne, about 45 minutes south of Paris, in the heart of the Fontainebleau forest. A 17th-century brick-and-stone residence surrounded by living-water moats, it’s a listed historic monument with a French-style park that unfolds 40 hectares of lawns and woods. This charming property, owned by the Montesquiou-Fezensac family since 1878, stands out for its fairy-tale, harmonious character, a place where life simply feels good.
