The European Heritage Days are back on September 20 and 21, 2025, and they've got plenty of surprises up their sleeves! Just a stone's throw from the Presidential Palace, the Maison Élysée opens its doors for a behind-the-scenes look at power.

On September 20 and 21, 2025, the European Heritage Days return with a motto: unbridled curiosity and free access to the exceptional. Gone are the days of fixed itineraries, replaced by the unexpected! This European event transforms every corner of heritage into a field of exploration, with emblematic museums, elite institutions, secret mansions and out-of-the-ordinary places open free of charge for two days. The aim? To reconnect the public with its cultural heritage, by triggering real emotions.

One of the new addresses on the 2025 program is Maison Élysée, in the heart of Paris's 8th arrondissement. Located directly opposite the Presidential Palace, the Élysée museum unfurls 600 m2 on two levels in a resolutely chic and immersive atmosphere. Highlights include the Salon doré, a faithful reproduction of the presidential office since 1958, featuring General de Gaulle's desk. A detour through the cabinet of curiosities is well worth your while: between a lute from India, a statue from Mozambique and a sketch of One Piece donated during the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games, there's no shortage of unusual objects! And if you need a bite to eat between discoveries, the café upstairs serves pastries made by the Élysée's pastry chefs.
