It's a tradition we love, and for good reason: for an entire weekend, thousands of cultural, religious and historical sites, institutions and regional curiosities open their doors to the general public free of charge. With so many events taking place at these sites, it's an opportunity to rediscover a place you already love, or to explore new ones. We're talking, of course, about the Journées du Patrimoine, which return on September 20 and 21, 2025 for their 42nd edition.
Museums, gardens, department stores, private workshops, railway stations, ministries: during this exceptional weekend, you can visit (almost) everything! Yes, even the courts and places of justice open their doors to you for special tours.
If you're fascinated by this world, now's the time to immerse yourself in a world of law andorder. In Paris and Île-de-France, several institutions are waiting to welcome you during the Journées du Patrimoine. Please note that some sites can only be visited with a reservation: please consult the programs below.
