As has been the tradition for many years, every third weekend in September sees the return of the European Heritage Days. Created in France in 1984, these days were extended to the whole of Europe in 1991, at the instigation of the Council of Europe. The aim is simple: to make cultural heritage, often unknown or reserved for the initiated, accessible to as many people as possible. Every September, thousands of sites open their doors for the occasion: ministries, museums, industrial sites, religious monuments and embassies, bridges between cultures. The 2025 edition of the event will focus on the heritage of trades and crafts, underlining the importance of know-how in preserving our common heritage.
In the 7th arrondissement of Paris, it's at theBulgarian Embassy, nestled in the elegant Hôtel de Monstiers-Mérinville, an 18thᵉ century mansion, that we propose to spend part of these Heritage Days. The embassy welcomes us exceptionally from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., free of charge, in a setting steeped in history. Enjoy your visit!
