It's a tradition we love, and for good reason: over a weekend, thousands of cultural, religious, and historical sites, institutions, and regional curiosities open their doors to the public for free. With the many activities planned at these venues, it's a chance to rediscover a place you already adore or to explore new ones. We’re talking, of course, about the Journées du Patrimoine, which return on September 19 and 20, 2026 for a 43rd edition.
Museums, gardens, department stores, private workshops, railway stations, ministries: during this exceptional weekend, you can visit (almost) everything! Yes, even the courts and places of justice open their doors to you for special tours.
If you're fascinated by this world, now's the time to immerse yourself in a world of law andorder. In Paris and Île-de-France, several institutions are waiting to welcome you during the Journées du Patrimoine. Please note that some sites can only be visited with a reservation: please consult the programs below.
