Strike on October 13, 2023: the Eiffel Tower is closed this Friday

Strikes and demonstrations across France are expected this Friday, October 13, 2023. Demonstrators are gathering to protest against " austerity policies, for higher wages and for equality between men and women ", explains Frédéric Souillot, General Secretary of Force ouvrière, on France 2 .

Thus, on October 13, numerous disruptions are expected in rail and air transport, but also in schools, health care centers, the civil service... In Paris, thestrike could be felt in places open to the public, such as museums and monuments. Indeed, many art and cultural venues had to delay their opening this morning, or only partially open. Some, like the Eiffel Tower, are completely closed.

The Iron Lady is closing its doors to the public this Friday. In a message posted on its website, the Iron Lady says: " Due to the national strike, the Eiffel Tower is currently closed. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Access to the Parvis remains open and free of charge. Visitors with e-tickets for today are invited to check their mailboxes ". Exceptionally, the Parisian monument is therefore entirely closed to the public. Visitors who already had their ticket should be able to exchange it or get a refund, according to the conditions indicated in the e-mail sent by the Tower ticket office.
