For those able to participate, donating blood is a meaningful and collective act. Just
dedicating one hour of your time can save three lives! Want to be a hero? It’s easier than you think: simply donate blood. In January 2026, the French Blood Establishment will hold several blood drives in Paris.
Throughout January, several key locations across the city will open their doors to healthcare workers and volunteers willing to donate blood. For a few hours, donors have the opportunity to perform a life-saving act and make a meaningful difference. Here is the schedule of blood drives:
During the holiday season, the demand for blood and platelet donations increases significantly: with medical emergencies, accidents, and fewer donors due to vacation travel, blood banks are quickly running out of supplies. As the new year begins, it becomes crucial to replenish these stocks to ensure enough reserves for those in need.
To address this, the 'EFS has launched a major appeal for donations. On its official website, the organization emphasizes that "blood is irreplaceable, and its shelf life is limited, making regular donations throughout the year essential." According to the EFS, healthcare providers need 10,000 donations every day to support patients, with around one million people treated annually thanks to these blood supplies.
To ensure smooth blood collection drives, remember to book an appointment online beforehand. Take this opportunity to also confirm your eligibility to donate blood: the criteria are explained on the EFS website—just answer a quick questionnaire. If you’re able, step up and dedicate an hour to helping save lives.
