One hour to save lives: this is the motto that unites all blood donors. If you'd like to join this group, see you on July 14, 2023 at theHôtel des Invalides. Every year since 2013, the Centre de Transfusion Sanguine des Armées (CTSA) has organized a blood drive day, inviting all Franciliens to come and give blood. This 10th edition is sponsored by Fabien Lamirault, handisport athlete, table tennis world champion, Paralympic champion and member of the Army of Champions.
Every national holiday, the CTSA launches an appeal for solidarity to replenish the blood reserves of military hospitals. This blood is used to treat military personnel injured on missions, as well as " military and civilian patients hospitalized in army training hospitals ", says the Center in a press release.
The Hôtel des Invalides, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, serves as a majestic backdrop to this important act. Around 350 donors will be able to give blood on July 14. To take part in the blood drive, you can register via this booking portal.
The CTSA, like theÉtablissement Français du Sang, reminds us every summer of the importance of donating blood, especially during the summer months: during the vacations, donations are much less frequent, so blood is in short supply for patients.
To help those in need, you can donate all year round, at various blood collection centers in Paris and the Île-de-France region. To do so, you must be over 18 and meet certain health criteria. For full details, visit the EFS website.
