In order to stop this 5th epidemic wave, the government gathered this November 24 around the French President to assess the different measures likely to be instated. This Thursday November 25, 2021, Olivier Véran specified these measures made by the executive. So far, lockdown is not on the agenda. But, the government has decided to open the 3rd dose of vaccine to all adults aged 18+, as well as reduced the validity of PCR tests down to 24 hours.
Another measure? The return of compulsory facemask-wearing indoors, in places open to the public although subject to the health pass already.
Speaking of the health pass, the Health Minister also announced the Holidays are in full swing but Christmas markets are now subject to the health pass. Olivier Véran said prefects will decide on them.
For the record, several Christmas markets are back in several major cities in France, including Paris. For instance, we can think of the Tuileries Garden Christmas market or the La Défense Christmas market.
