In 2022, the capital experienced several sandstorms, in the midst of severe heatwaves that put the body to the test. At the start of this year, just as spring is making a comeback, temperatures are set to rise sharply this Saturday, April 6, 2024, with 27 degrees forecast for the capital, well above seasonal norms. This upwelling of warm air from Africa brings with it sand dust from the Sahara, and thus a pollution spike to be feared, as the arrival of this sand implies a more stifling climate and may aggravate the effects of the heat.
