It is a highly anticipated speech. Emmanuel Macron will speak this Monday, April 17, 2023 at 20:00, from the Élysée Palace. To be followed on TF1, France 2, and all TV and radio news channels, this speech is the first since the enactment of the pension reform.
As a reminder, on the night of April 14 to 15, Emmanuel Macron signed the text of the Constitutional Council, making the final point of the reform. This has revived the protests and the anger of the opposition. This speech, already recorded, should, according to the will of Emmanuel Macron, ease tensions and act as a roadmap for the rest: the future of his policy and the next reforms.
At the call of the inter-union, a new day of strikes and demonstrations is scheduled for Monday, May 1. It is therefore expected that Emmanuel Macron will mention it in his speech, but not only. According to our colleagues from BFMTV, the President of the Republic could also speak about health, school, transport, wages and purchasing power. He could even go back to the French, on the ground, as he did during his first term.
