TheArc de Triomphe is certainly one of the most emblematic monuments in Paris. Throned at the top of the Champs-Elysées avenue, and dominating the Charles de Gaulle - Etoile traffic circle, it attracts many tourists every year, who take photos of it from the square, or set off to conquer its summit, climbing the steps to discover the view from its top.
However, the monument may be forced to close its doors in exceptional circumstances. This is precisely the case this Thursday, September 18, 2025, due to the "Bloquons Tout" social movement, marked by protest rallies and demonstrations taking place in Paris and throughout France.
TheArc de Triomphe is exceptionally closed: on its website, the monument states: " Due to a labor movement, the monument is exceptionally closed today. CMN e-tickets are automatically refunded. "
Good news, then, for visitors who had bought a ticket for September 18: they will be compensated, in accordance with the rules laid down on the Arc de Triomphe website: " In the event of exceptional closure, e-tickets bought on the Centre des monuments nationaux online ticketing service are automatically refunded to the bank account that was debited. No claims are necessary. Please note that there will be a delay.
