Le Toit de la Grande Arche will close its doors for good this Friday, April 28, 2023 at 6pm after 6 years of operation. It is a page that turns for this emblematic place of the Parisian culture.

The Toit de la Grande Arche and its events are over! Indeed, this Friday, April 28, 2023, marks the last day of operation of this place that has become emblematic for a time.

The public's enthusiasm and numerous successes will not have been enough in the face of the colossal operating costs linked to the complexity of the building. Despite the unfailing support and investment of the CITY ONE group, no public subsidy was granted to keep the ship afloat, and the group had to bear alone the costs and constraints generated by the reception of the public 7 days a week, from 10 am to 7 pm.

It should be noted that the Toit de la Grande Arche is a combination of a high-rise building and an establishment open to the public, making the safety, upkeep and maintenance specifications very restrictive and costly.

The cultural and events program, the quality catering orchestrated by Jérôme Vigato and his teams at the restaurant La City (rated 9.3 on The Forks and sold out every day), as well as the summer afterwork evenings and the exceptional events at 110 m height (skating rink, educational farm at Easter, yoga classes, crossfit, boxing on the roof, guinguette evenings, concerts, etc.) did not allow for the activity to be sustained.

This painful decision comes after several years of investments, COVID crisis and efforts to respect the successive health protocols. With the Paralympic Games just one year away, the CITY ONE group has taken the decision to close the roof with a sense of achievement, but also with regret. Negotiations to consider a financial participation of the landlord and/or the State to keep this place open have unfortunately and finally not been successful.

In a press release, the Toit de la Grande Arche wanted to thank all the artists who trusted it, such as Daniel Angeli, Nikos Aliagas, Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Jean-Marie Périer, Matthieu Ricard and Bob Sinclar, as well as the Artistic Direction teams (the PAM agency and Catherine Arthus-Bertrand) and the 53 employees who have worked during these 6 years.

It's time to say goodbye to the Grande Arche roof as we know it today, which has offered us beautiful exhibitions, great evenings and good food.
