Althoughrainwater has becomeunsuitable for consumption worldwide, it is still perfectly useful forwatering plants or for sanitary purposes. More economical and ecological than using running water, this natural water that falls from the sky as soon as precipitation falls on the region, can now benefit from a subsidy of up to 20,000 euros, if you own your own home.
Many professional and budding gardeners are already using this practical solution. But the Île-de-France region wants to make rainwater harvesting the norm. To encourage people in the region to buy one, several thousand euros can be granted, depending on the form of the collector: underground, overhead or in the basement. Here are the conditions to qualify!
You'll need to buy a new underground tank with a minimum recovery volume of 5m3, or an overhead collector or flexible tank with a minimum volume of 3m3. This also includes all expenses associated with the purchase and installation, from the pump to the cover, including earthworks if required. Unfortunately, this does not apply to everyone, as you ideally need a garden to be able to use it, excluding the majority of Parisians.
