Fall asleep in Paris only to wake up in another city: that's the promise of a one-way overnight train journey, to spend an unusual night in a sleeper car. For a weekend of 2, 3 or 4 days, here are our ideas for getaways far from Paris and its daily grind.

Fancya trip to the sun, mountains or sea ? Instead of opting for a low-cost flight that you could happily do without, why not opt for the train, or even the night train? With lines gradually reopening across the country, it's the perfect opportunity to spend a night out of the ordinary, watching the scenery go by from your sleeper window.

In the end, you're spoilt for choice with a host of destinations, most of them in the South of France. On the Côte d'Azur, you can also discover the charming towns of Nice or Cannes, a favorite of Hollywood stars during its festival.
