14Trévise, the YMCA's historic venue, has launched an unusual campaign to raise funds to renovate the floor of its basketball court, the oldest in the capital.

In the 9th arrondissement, at 14 rue de Trévise, you'll find the 14Trévise basketball court, a particularly popular spot with fans of the round ball, since it's the oldest basketball court in Paris! Inaugurated in 1893, the site is managed by the YMCA Paris, an association committed to helping young people through sport. With the arrival of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the building closed its doors for a complete renovation.

So, to enable everyone to participate in the renovation of this unique historic venue, YMCA Paris has launched Adopte une lame, a participatory sponsorship campaign to financially support the renovation work. The oak parquet flooring at 14-Trévise is in dire need of renovation. Laid over 130 years ago, each plank needs to be restored, cleaned, sanded... Then, each one will be numbered and put back in its place.

As a symbolic figure in relation to the Paris Olympics, 2024 floorboards will be offered for adoption. All you have to do is go to adopteunelame.com, the website for the participatory sponsorship campaign, choose the floorboard you'd like to adopt, enter your name and make your financial contribution (from €100 to €1,000 or more - the choice is yours!). A numbered collector's certificate bearing the donor's name will be given to each of them, and for each blade adopted, a certificate will be offered to a child who is a basketball fan, according to the YMCA Paris.
