To mark the commemoration of May 8th, the Préfecture de police de Paris has issued an order temporarily modifying parking and traffic in several Paris streets in the 8th, 16th and 17th arrondissements, on May 7, 8 and 9, 2025.
If you're planning to drive through Paris in the next few hours, be prepared. Due to the 80th anniversary ceremony of the Victory of May 8, 1945, and the presence of the President of the Republic at this commemoration, traffic is expected to be difficult on Wednesday May 7 and Thursday May 8, 2025 in three arrondissements of the capital.
The Préfecture de Police has issued a decree temporarily modifying parking and traffic conditions in several of the capital's thoroughfares in the 8th, 16th and 17th arrondissements, on May 7, 8 and 9, 2025. The aim? To ensure the smooth running of the event and the safety of people and property ".
In detail, from May 7, 2025 at 2:00 pm to May 9, 2025 at 1:00 am, parking and circulation of all types of vehicles are prohibited in Paris 8th, 16th and 17th, in the following streets and sections of streets:
- place Charles de Gaulle ;
- rue de Tilsitt ;
- rue de Presbourg ;
- portions of the twelve avenues between place Charles de Gaulle and rue de Tilsitt / rue de Presbourg
Parking for all vehicles is prohibited from May 7, 2025 at 9:30pm to May 9, 2025 at 01:00am on avenue des Champs-Elysées, between rue de Presbourg/Tilsitt and avenue George V, Paris 8ème.
The parking of any type of vehicle is prohibited from May 7, 2025 at 22:00 to May 9, 2025 at 01:00 in Paris 8th, 16th and 17th, in the following streets and portions of streets:
- rue Arsène Houssaye, between avenue de Friedland and avenue des Champs-Elysées;
- rue Balzac, between rue Lord Byron and avenue des Champs-Elysées ;
- rue Washington, between rue Chateaubriand and avenue des Champs-Elysées;
- rue Galilée, between rue Vernet and avenue des Champs-Elysées;
- rue de Bassano, between rue Vernet and avenue des Champs-Elysées;
- avenue Georges V, between rue Vernet and avenue des Champs-Elysées ;
- rue Vernet, between avenue Georges V and avenue Marceau
The parking of any type of vehicle is prohibited from May 7, 2025 at 10:00 PM to May 8, 2025 at 9:00 PM in Paris 8th, in the following streets and portions of streets:

The circulation of any type of vehicle is prohibited on May 8, 2025 from 08h00 to 14h00, and from May 8, 2025 at 21h00 to May 9, 2025 at 01h00, within the perimeter delimited by the following streets and portions of streets in Paris 8th, 16th and 17th, which remain open to traffic:
