Be cautious if you plan to use public transportation in Île-de-France this Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Due to a nationwide strike at the SNCF, traffic is expected to be disrupted on several RER and Transilien lines across Paris and Île-de-France. The unions are demanding wage increases just as the NAO—the Annual Mandatory Negotiations—are scheduled to take place on January 13, 2026.
Regarding the main lines, SNCF Voyageurs announces: "As part of the nationwide strike on Tuesday, January 13th, TGV and Intercités services will operate as usual, with only minor disruptions affecting a few regional lines in Occitania and Île-de-France."
Several disruptions are expected to affect public transportation in Paris and Île-de-France on January 13th. So, what exactly should commuters prepare for? The impact will be relatively limited, as only 3 out of the 14 transit lines in the network will be affected by this strike.
According to its official website, Transilien SNCF warns that services will be "heavily disrupted on the RER D", with only one train running every two between Corbeil-Essonnes and Creil. A similar half-service is expected between Goussainville and Melun. Disruptions are also anticipated on Tuesday, January 13, on the RER E and the R line of Transilien, where two out of three trains are expected. Travelers on affected lines are advised to limit their journeys wherever possible.
Traffic is expected to remain "normal across the rest of the Transilien network," according to officials. No disruptions are anticipated on lines A, B, and C of the RER, or on lines H, J, K, L, N, P, U, and V.
It's important to note that this strike does not involve the RATP; metro, tram, and bus services will continue to operate normally and are not affected by this industrial action.
Additionally, Transilien SNCF has announced that service is suspended on the RER D line between Melun and Corbeil-Essonnes in both directions until Tuesday, January 13. The outage follows "the passage of Storm Goretti this Friday, January 9, which caused a tree to fall onto the tracks in the Vosves area," explains Transilien SNCF, noting that "significant work is required to restore the electrical supply necessary for train operations." To assist travelers, replacement buses have also been arranged between Corbeil-Essonnes and Melun to facilitate their journey.
