Planning to take the RER C on February 19, 2026? Then, make sure to plan ahead. Transilien SNCF has announced that a local labor strike could cause some disruptions to train service this Thursday. However, these disturbances are not expected to be severe. According to Transilien SNCF, traffic on the RER C will be "slightly affected" on February 19.
Details about the upcoming disruptions are still under wraps for now, but travelers are advised to keep an eye on the Île-de-France Mobilités app, the Transilien.com website, SNCF Connect, or their mobility app for updates. More precise RER C traffic forecasts are expected to be released this Wednesday from 5 p.m. onward.
It’s worth recalling that the RER C is a heavily used line, not only by Parisians but also by visitors exploring the city. The RER C line weaves through the Paris metropolitan area with numerous branch points. It connects the western suburbs of Pontoise, Versailles-Château-Rive-Gauche, and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines to the south, including Massy - Palaiseau, Dourdan, and Saint-Martin-d'Étampes, all passing through the heart of Paris.
In Paris, the RER C passes through some of the city's most popular tourist spots, such as the Champ de Mars, Les Invalides, the Musée d'Orsay, as well as Saint-Michel and Notre-Dame. On Thursday, February 19, due to a local strike, minor disruptions are expected on the RER C, potentially causing delays or train cancellations.
Note that further disruptions are scheduled on the RER C, especially during the upcoming winter holidays. Specifically, due to maintenance work, service will be halted between Pontoise and Champ de Mars - Tour Eiffel from February 28th to March 1st, inclusive—covering the entire weekend. Additionally, on February 28th, trains will cease running between Versailles Château Rive Gauche and Javel from 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM. For more details, visit the RER C blog.
