Public transportation in Paris and Île-de-France will face significant disruptions from February 16 to 22, 2026. The entire line 7bis of the metro will be shut down, and several RER and Transilien lines operated by RATP and SNCF will experience interruptions due to ongoing maintenance work.

Should you expect disruptions on the public transport lines in Paris and Île-de-France this week? The answer is a resounding yes. From Monday, February 16, to Sunday, February 22, 2026, numerous service disruptions are anticipated across the Île-de-France network. The RATP and SNCF are continuing their major overhaul projects, with the most notable this week being the complete closure of Line 7bis from February 21 to March 8. The RER C will also face additional early-evening interruptions starting at 7:45 p.m. Metro, Transilien, RER... here’s a rundown of the disruptions you should be aware of.

Which Metro and Tram Lines Are Affected This Week?

On the Paris metro side, the headline event of the week is unquestionably the complete shutdown of one of the lines:

  • Line 7bis: The line will be completely closed from February 21 to March 8 due to maintenance work. If you typically use this line to reach the 19th or 20th districts, you'll need to find alternative routes for the next few weeks.

  • Line 12: Until February 19, service is suspended across the entire line every Thursday from 10 p.m. On Wednesdays until March 11, the line will also be closed from 10 p.m. due to modernization work.

On the tramway front, several lines are still experiencing disruptions, with two additional routes now affected.

  • T1: Service remains suspended between Asnières-Quatre Routes and Gare de Saint-Denis, with disruptions across the rest of the line. As a reminder, during the night of May 15-16, 2025, a boat struck the bridge connecting Saint-Denis to Île-Saint-Denis. Resumption of service is expected by summer 2026.

  • T2: Night work wraps up this week, with service still halted between Porte de Versailles and Suzanne Lenglen through Thursday, February 19. Good news coming this Friday!

  • T4: Until March 13, from 9:15 PM to 4:30 AM, the line will be closed entirely. Additionally, from now until March 23, during weekend nights from 9:15 PM to 4:55 AM, service will be interrupted between Gargan and Aulnay-sous-Bois. From February 22 to March 16, on Sundays from 12:55 AM to 4:55 AM, the line will also be closed on that segment.

  • T11: Until February 20, every weekday from 10:05 PM, the entire line will be out of service. Work is wrapping up midweek.

  • T13: Through February 27, from 10 PM on weekdays, the whole line will be shut down for ongoing work.

  • T14: From February 16 to 20, inclusive, nightly from 9:45 PM to 2 AM, the entire line will be closed due to construction. This week adds another overnight maintenance operation.

How to plan your travel for the week ahead?

This week, from February 16 to 22, 2026, marks a major turning point with the complete closure of Line 7bis of the metro starting Saturday, February 21. If you live or work in the 19th and 20th districts served by this line, now’s the time to plan alternative routes using Line 7, 3bis, or surface buses. The RER C will also experience significant disruptions, with service interruptions beginning at 7:45 p.m. on weekdays, affecting evening return trips. Remember to regularly check the Bonjour RATP and SNCF Connect apps for real-time traffic updates. On a brighter note, the T2 is resuming service from Friday, February 20, after modernization work between Porte de Versailles and Suzanne Lengen. If you’ve planned weekend outings, allow extra travel time and be sure to check the schedules in advance.

In short, this week from February 16 to 22, 2026 is particularly busy with ongoing construction work across the Île-de-France transit network. The complete closure of line 7bis starting February 21st is the key event, directly affecting the northeastern districts of Paris. Lines K and J of the Transilien network will also experience significant disruptions over the weekend. If you need to travel late at night, consider using the Noctilien bus services that run throughout Paris and Île-de-France overnight. Good luck navigating this busy week!
