Saturday, September 26, 2026, Pope Léon XIV will lead a solemn outdoor Mass on the Place de la Concorde and along the Champs-Élysées in the 8th arrondissement. The gathering is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., with hundreds of thousands expected to line the iconic avenue.
This celebration will be one of the marquee moments of the sovereign pontiff's Paris visit. The day before, Leo X will notably traverse the streets of the capital in the papamobile, celebrate the vespers at Notre-Dame de Paris, and meet with young people during a grand vigil at the Stade de France.
To welcome the crowd, the celebration will be staged across several zones from Place de la Concorde to the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. The majority of participants will attend the standing Mass, although specific arrangements are planned for people with disabilities or with special needs.
With crowds swelling, organizers also won permission to open a start zone at Place de l'Étoile and along the Avenue de la Grande Armée, within a secured perimeter. This decision was announced as registrations neared 600,000 participants.
Mass is free and open to all. Online registration is encouraged to help with organizing and seating the crowd, but it does not operate as a traditional ticketing system.
If the Mass is set to begin at 3 p.m., plan to arrive well in advance. Several hundred thousand people are expected, with security checks and a large-scale welcoming operation around Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Élysées.

The Mass is free and open to all. Registrations are now closed. They did not, however, constitute a ticket or a reserved seat: unregistered people will still be able to attend the celebration, subject to venue capacity and safety guidelines.

Several controlled entry points will provide access to the various zones laid out along the Champs-Élysées and around the Place de la Concorde. Registered participants will be directed to a designated area to help spread out the crowds, and an arrival station may be recommended depending on the sector.
