In 2027, the Saint-Denis – Pleyel station will unveil a monumental work by artist Prune Nourry. Entitled “Les Vénus dyonisiennes,” the installation will showcase 108 sculptures inspired by the earliest depictions of women in the Paleolithic era.
Installed up to 27 meters high in the atrium at the heart of an Île-de-France station, these universal figures will stand 1.70 meters tall. Each will be coated with a patina drawn from various local clays. To give every piece its own identity, Prune Nourry has conceived a "combination of eight shapes linked to a range of 13 earth tones—from black to brown ochre, including red, yellow and white," according to a press release.
Designed with the participation of women from Saint-Denis, this artistic project is thus slated to arrive at a major Île-de-France railway hub in 2027. In the meantime, the Société des grands projets has decided to exceptionally open the artist’s studio to the public, tucked on the first floor of the Saint-Denis – Pleyel station. For four days only, from Thursday, October 22 to Sunday, October 25, 2026, visitors and travelers will be able to get a first look at all 108 sculptures.

With the arrival of lines 15, 16, 17 and 18 of the Grand Paris Express, it should be noted that 68 new stations will rise across Île-de-France by 2031. Each of these future stations will unveil a lasting artwork conceived in tandem by an architect and an artist, featuring names such as Sophie Calle, JR, Otobong Nkanga, Anselm Kiefer, Felice Varini, Duy Anh Nhan Duc, Guillaume Bresson, and Eva Jospin.
Meanwhile, Prune Nourry has been chosen to elevate the Saint-Denis – Pleyel station with her 108 Venus statues. While we await the final installation in 2027, you can discover them for free from October 22 to 25, 2026. Admission is free and open to all, from 12:00 to 19:00, via the station forecourt (level 1).
