The “Lawyer in the City” initiative is back in the capital from October 12 to 18, 2026. For one week, Paris Bar lawyers will meet Parisians, offering free legal consultations across the city.

The Paris Bar, in partnership with the City of Paris, is organizing a new edition of "The Lawyer in the City" from October 12 to 18, 2026 in the capital. The idea behind this initiative? To offer Parisians free legal consultations, with or without an appointment, across all specialties.

For one week, the Barreau de Paris is taking over the city to meet Parisians in need. It's an opportunity to benefit from free and often very useful advice when the law eludes us.

So, where can you meet these volunteer lawyers from the Paris Bar? These justice professionals are waiting for you across the capital, notably on the forecourt of City Hall from October 14 to 18, with the Lawyer's Village or the Solidarity Bus from October 12 to 16, parked on Place de la République.

In Paris’s arrondissement town halls and at the Palais de Justice, you can also take advantage of free, open-access consultations. Depending on the specialty, you may need to book an appointment ahead of time, so be sure to check the site. Free confidential advice and listening that, each year across the city, helps about 5,000 people access a lawyer and receive clear, tailored answers to their needs.

Numerous specialist lawyers will be on hand to answer your questions on a range of topics, including consumer law, banking law, criminal law, traffic offences, general consultations, housing, labor, family, property and inheritance, companies, crafts and trade.
