Did you love the movie La Nuit au musée? We invite you to relive the same adventure... or almost. On Saturday, May 23, 2026, museums, monuments and châteaux across France invite you to the Night of Museums : an evening of exhibitions, concerts, activities and all kinds of surprises for the whole family.
The Musée de la Vie Romantique is also taking part in this 22nd edition, offering a timeless moment guided by the performances spread across the museum’s different spaces. It’s a chance to (re)discover the home of Ary Scheffer and his circle of artist friends, including the renowned George Sand, who helped shape 19th‑century Paris. Night of Museums also lets us enjoy the museum’s current temporary exhibition in this hidden gem in the 9th arrondissement.
So, what can you actually do during this special evening at the Musée de la Vie Romantique? Here’s the lineup of festivities, and a heads-up: the museum fills up fast with Parisians on Nuit des Musées. Be sure to arrive early so you don’t miss the evening’s activities!
As part of European Museum Night, the Musée de la Vie romantique will stay open for a special after-hours session until 10:30 p.m.
The Romantic Life Museum hosts Duo Voco-Cello, bringing together two artists from the Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier Occitanie: Hwanyoo Lee, a soprano with the Opera Chorus, and Cyrille Tricoire de Haro, the orchestra’s solo cello principal. This project is part of the “Focus Korea,” organized by the Korean Cultural Center in partnership with Paris Musées, celebrating the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France.
The Duo Voco-Cello presents a program centered on the encounter between voice and cello, two timbres bound by breath and by their capacity to carry emotion. In harmony with the venue’s spirit and its Romantic imaginary, the program weaves a dialogue across different works and repertoires, in a sensitive, cross-cutting approach. Some pieces incorporate light electronics, used in real time to enrich the cello’s resonances and open listening to new nuances.
Designed for the Night of Museums, this program follows the evening’s rhythm and offers a distinct musical moment, in keeping with the night’s singular atmosphere.
The duo will perform three 30-minute passages in the museum courtyard, at 7:00 pm, 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
How could we resist? For us, the Musée de la Vie Romantique is a must for our Parisian Museum Night!
