The City of Science and Industry joins the 22nd Night of Museums this Saturday, May 23, 2026. On this special evening, the museum opens its doors for free to its collections, exhibitions, and performances. A night to thrill visitors of all ages!

Every year, the Nuit des Musées (Night of the Museums ) attracts enthusiasts and the curious with a program of exceptional nocturnes, free visits and unusual events for all ages. In Paris and the Paris region, museums, châteaux, monuments and institutions all play their part in this cultural event synonymous with good deals.

The Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie is a magical temple where children can explore and understand the world, through immersive exhibits and spaces that let us discover the beauties of the world. Nature, technology, space, the marine world, energy, biology... All these fascinating fields are brought to children's level, opening up a world of extraordinary discoveries.

All of these collections can be seen free of charge during the 22nd edition of the Nuit des Musées, this Saturday, May 23, 2026. For one magical evening, the museum opens its doors and lets us freely explore the permanent and temporary exhibitions of the Cité des Sciences. Several activities are also typically offered to families and curious visitors who come that night.

    And on the planets of the solar system, which stars can we see? Keep exploring the billions of stars in our galaxy, the Milky Way.



  • Surprise Quiz
    Saturday, May 23, 2026 — 6:30–7:15 p.m., 7:30–8:15 p.m.

    Coffee: a performance-enhancing substance or not? Do we really only use 10% of our brains? How does the adorable wombat mark its territory? Which quiz will you end up on? It’s up to you to find out and take the challenge!



  • Volcanoes: Is it spitting fire?

    Welcome to the open doors of PSHIT, the lab responsible for monitoring hot-spot volcanoes. Guided by a renowned volcanologist, head to the slopes of Piton de la Fournaise to uncover the secrets of effusive volcanic activity.



  • 2026 Total Solar Eclipse
    Saturday, May 23, 2026 – 7:00 PM ⤏ 7:40 PM

    The countdown is on! Between August 12 and January 26, 2028, France will witness three solar eclipses.

    With the help of real video footage, a science mediator will guide you through the key moments, the best observing spots for the big day, and safe techniques to view the event.

    The show will close with a recap of the latest scientific findings about our Sun. After this session, you’ll be left craving nothing more than witnessing a total solar eclipse in person.



  • The party at Galilée — DJ Sky

    Galileo has been under house arrest since his trial for heresy. Yet, the Planetarium at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie chose to celebrate his 459th birthday.

    The Cité des sciences et de l’industrie marks Galileo’s birthday, a figure once confined after his heresy trial.

    To lift the mood of our guest, the mediator steps up as DJ for the show. His playlist, featuring Dua Lipa, Daft Punk, and others, serves as the occasion to revisit the discoveries and the life story of this eminent physicist, who was at once philosopher, mathematician and astronomer.
