World Music Day 2026 in Melun (77): a unique evening blending jazz, live concerts and a DJ set

Music Day invites all music lovers and enthusiasts to come together on June 21, 2026! Since its inception in France in 1982, fans of rock, jazz, electro, classical, as well as rap and blues have made it a yearly ritual, gathering on the same date every year—the summer solstice, June 21.

Every June 21, music resounds in the streets, bars and restaurants, parks and gardens, concert halls, museums, institutions, cultural centers and churches. And every June 21, music lovers can't wait to find out what's in store for this year's Fête de la musique.

This year, once again, the top musical events are lining up, especially in Paris and elsewhere in Île-de-France. If you live in the Seine-et-Marne, for example, you’ll have plenty of choices. For residents of Melun, head to Place Praslin on Sunday, June 21, 2026. And, for the second year running, the gardens of the Préfecture will be unusually open to the public and transformed into a real open-air stage! The city also announces the installation of two stages on Place Saint-Jean, from 6pm to 9pm.

For this year's Fête de la Musique, the city of Melun is preparing a wonderful evening of music, with a series of free concerts that are as entertaining as they are festive. Here's the program!

Music Day 2026 in Melun — the schedule

Sunday, June 21, 2026, starting at 4 p.m. – Free admission

JARDINS DE LA PREFECTURE - register to attend
The City of Melun and the Seine-et-Marne Prefecture are joining forces once again to present a series of concerts in the Prefecture gardens (address: 12 Rue des Saint-Pères in Melun), unusually open to the public and transformed into an open-air stage from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Free but mandatory registration.

• 4 p.m.: Conservatoire Les Deux Muses
  Students from the Melun and Vaux-le-Pénil conservatories will take the stage for a live performance.
  
  
• 6:30 p.m.: INTER-LYCEES #2026: NESRA – LOLA – LEA
  Selected from high schools through the agglomeration’s cultural education and action program, and backed by Les Amplifiés and Scène 77, these young artists will share their worlds, blending pop, folk and French chanson.
  
  
• 7:15 p.m.: Semra
  An eclectically inspired trio and Tremplin 77 winner, this group finds the prefecture gardens to be the perfect stage to illuminate tracks where rap lyrics mingle with jazz and classical influences.

Once again this year, Place Praslin hosts its usual stage and a lineup of pop, funk and rock acts curated by Scènes 77.

• 8:15 PM: PEDT — Local Education and Territory Project
  This lineup of artists from Melun’s neighborhoods emerged from a collaborative effort between the City’s services and several local associations active with the youth.
  
  
• 8:45 PM: Cassily
  Cassily, a 22-year-old singer-songwriter, dives into her emotions with striking intensity. Blending French chanson with UK indie rock influences (Adé, Wet Leg, Michel Berger), she has found her voice: that of a generation in search of meaning, intensity, and freedom.
  
  
• 9:45 PM: Soulful Echos
  Soulful Echoes is a Jazz-Hip-Hop-Soul trio made up of a rapper/singer, a pianist-composer, and a drummer. They deliver a richly colorful musical experience where groove and lyrics fuse, tackling themes that are both personal and universal.
  
  
• 10:45 PM: Goupils
  With five members, Goupils spins nu funk, built on a guitar-free setup that leans on a groove born from a tasteful mix of legendary ’70s keyboards and more modern synths.
  
  
• 11:45 PM: Final set with DJ RÉatha
  A familiar face on the circuit, opening for international acts (Craig David, Joe, Kelly Rowland, etc.), he delivers a sound blending hip-hop, soul, funk, electro, and Afro influences.
