New this year: Music Day in Paris and Île-de-France on Sunday, June 21, 2026! Every June 21 since 1982, the French have been invited to take to the streets with their instruments and let live music ring out. Each year on the same date, aspiring musicians and singers take over the streets, boulevards, squares, bridges, and also parks, gardens, and squares—or cafés, bars, and restaurants, and sometimes churches and museums. The aim? To pay homage to music in all its forms for just one day.
From rock to metal, including rap, R&B, salsa, reggae, zouk, classical, French pop, jazz, blues, funk and electro... all genres are in the spotlight on June 21 thanks to the talents of amateur musicians, as well as renowned artists who don’t hesitate to put on free concerts for the occasion.
In Paris, the musical scene is buzzing with top picks, from must-see events on the parvis of the 15th arrondissement town hall to a standout performance at Place de la Mairie du 15e and the Bastille square. Elsewhere in Île-de-France, the celebration is in full swing, including in Versailles. This Yvelines town is once again taking part in the Fête de la Musique.
In 2026, Versailles will mark Music Day on Sunday, June 21, with an eclectic lineup shining a light on pop, funk, and electronic sounds. To join the celebration, simply head to Avenue de Paris from 5 p.m.
