The Fête de la Musique, the groovy event par excellence, gets every street corner buzzing on June 21, the day when summer finally (finally!) gets underway.
Conceived in 1982 by Jack Lang, then Minister of Culture, this festival was born of a crazy idea: to offer everyone, pros and amateurs alike, an open-air stage. From Paris to the beaches of Rio, this musical tsunami gets the world dancing, transforming cities into giant dance floors. In the City of Light, the streets come alive as soon as night falls, with stages popping up as if by magic in the most unlikely corners: from squares to boulevards, from bars to public squares. It's a veritable musical marathon, with every district resonating to the rhythm of local artists and over-the-top DJ sets. Whatever your style, from rock to jazz to electro, the Fête de la Musique is your VIP pass for a night of frenzied decibels.
This year again, the Cathédrale américaine de Paris is the place to be! Inaugurated in 1886 on the avenue George V, just steps from the Champs-Élysées, and listed as a historic monument since 1997, the church is reserved for Anglican worship. With its imposing spaces and Neo-Gothic style, the American Cathedral often hosts prestigious events on Paris’s cultural scene, notably the Fashion Week. This year, the building is once again taking part in the Fête de la musique. Here’s the program to discover on the Sunday, June 21, 2026!
The Sung Evensong, often hailed as the jewel in the crown of the Anglican tradition, is a centuries-old musical rite that began in England in the 16th century, when Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury under Henry VIII, drew on the established offices of Compline and Evensong to fashion a new service of evening prayer.
The choir of the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral invites you to a sacred and uplifting liturgical concert, and everyone is welcome!
Our orchestra, led by Rob Clearfield, invites you to a moment of jazz and poetry to celebrate music and Pride Month!
