Imagine Paris, swarmed by contemporary art in a buzzing, hyperactive program for a single night. That’s the promise of the Nuit Blanche, the grand cultural milestone that frees art from convention, unveiling a wealth of free events—from artistic installations and performances to live theatre and exhibitions in sometimes surprising spaces. From dusk until dawn, art pulses in all its forms for Nuit Blanche. Don’t miss the next date Saturday, June 6, 2026.
In this great artistic theater, one place stands out for its exotic charm: the Grande Mosquée de Paris. Erected in 1926 as a tribute to the Muslim combatants of the First World War, this Hispano-Moorish architectural gem invites you on a sensory voyage. The sweet scent of jasmine, the song of birds, the colorful mosaics and the slender minaret create an exceptional setting in which to stroll endlessly.
And for the Nuit Blanche, the Grande Mosquée de Paris is transformed into a space of creativity and artistic expression. Stroll through its courtyards and gardens, and let yourself be carried away by contemporary art in dialogue with traditional architecture, creating an immersive and spellbinding experience. So, would you like to discover the program that awaits you?
Installation, Performance, Music
Inspired by Arab astronomy, the Grand Mosque of Paris becomes the stage for a meeting between art and astrophysics. Audiences are invited on a nocturnal walk—from the gardens to the courtyard—tracing gravitational waves and the mysteries surrounding black-hole mergers.
Between a visual installation and an electronic soundscape, the project renders visible how our understanding of the universe has evolved. At 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., a percussion-and-electronic-sound piece occupies this storied venue for an intimate listen to the invisible.
Created by Atelier des Feuillantines (Fabrice Guédy – composer; Caroline Delabie, Floriane Rigolot and Carla Guédy – visual artists; Armand Ledanois – mathematical modeling), the project grew out of a dialogue with astrophysicist Jean-Philippe Uzan, exploring the intersections of scientific rigor and artistic creation. Percussionist: Aurèle Gerin
In collaboration with the Grand Mosque of Paris; PSL Partage des savoirs; Conservatoire Gabriel Fauré
