The Théâtre de Verdure de La Girandole, tucked into the heart of the historic site of the murs à pêches de Montreuil (93), in Seine-Saint-Denis, is one of those places that exists only here, nowhere else. For Nuit Blanche 2026, it will host, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., a free, all-ages evening titled All You Need Is Love, blending scenographic installations, poetry and electro.
From May to September, the theatre La Girandole sets up its summer home in its Théâtre de verdure, on a plot allocated by the city of Montreuil within the historic Murs-à-Pêches site. In 2009, buoyed by a call for projects to rehabilitate the peach-walled terraces, La Girandole answered the call. After two years of work, the venue opened its doors to become, from May to September, the stage for the multidisciplinary festival Sous les Pêchers la plage, blending music, storytelling, dance, circus, concerts and a wealth of other artistic expressions.
La Girandole tells the story of two actors, Félicie Fabre and Luciano Travaglino, who after founding the La Girandole Company in 1980 built with their own hands a theatre just steps from the metro. A neighborhood theatre rooted in the local landscape, its mission is to reach every audience by reviving the popular traditions of clowning and storytelling, while updating them for today and presenting plays, songs, authors and cultures. Under the blush of peach trees, in the shade of the old stone walls, the venue carries a slightly unreal feel, like a theatre sprung from nowhere in the middle of the city.
For Nuit Blanche 2026, La Girandole puts love on the program, echoing the theme chosen by artistic director Barbara Butch for this 25th edition. The evening All You Need Is Love unfolds as a multi-part artistic and sonic odyssey: the solar scenographic installations by Driiing Collectif sweep through the space and transform it, Lisa Portelli’s electro-backed poems make the words resonate in new ways, and the electro duo Zajal carries you through the worlds of Oum Kaltoum and Fayrouz—those towering Arab voices of love songs—via a soulful electronic reinterpretation. A celebration of love in all its forms, crossing cultures and eras, in a setting that suits it perfectly.
The event is free and open to everyone. The Théâtre de Verdure at La Girandole is located at 65 rue Pierre de Montreuil in Montreuil (93100), Seine-Saint-Denis. For any further information, La Girandole can be reached at 01 48 53 57 17 or at billetterie@girandole.fr, and the full evening program is available on La Girandole’s website.
We’re recommending this evening to anyone looking to break away from the usual Paris scene for a more intimate Nuit Blanche, anchored by a venue that has built a genuine popular and artistic identity for over forty years. A smart out-of-town option, just a few minutes from Croix de Chavaux metro station (Line 9).
