The Lafayette Anticipations Foundation, nestled in the heart of the Marais in Paris’s 4th arrondissement, is one of those spots we especially love for making contemporary art accessible to all. For Nuit Blanche 2026, this Saturday, June 6, 2026, the venue is staging a festive, family-friendly program, including a Super Kids Party tailored for children aged 3 to 10.
Created in October 2013 by Groupe Galeries Lafayette, the foundation opened its doors in March 2018 at 9 rue du Plâtre, in a building refurbished by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas and his firm OMA. From the outside, the structure looks anything but conventional. Inside, the surprise is total: a former 19th-century wholesale house that's been completely reimagined, with a multi-level, modular space, and a production workshop at its core featuring a one-of-a-kind scenographic elevator that can reshape the venue’s architecture to fit the works on display. You never quite know what to expect when you push the door, and that’s precisely what gives the place its charm.
Lafayette Anticipations stands out with its integrated on-site production workshop, a one-of-a-kind setup in Paris that lets resident artists design, prototype, and fabricate works right on the premises with a dedicated production team. The space also hosts a contemporary art bookstore and Pluto, a café-restaurant run by chef Thomas Coupeau, an ideal stop to extend the visit with a bite to eat.
The foundation is presenting two contemporary art exhibitions featuring Diego Marcon and Ladji Diaby, running through July 19, 2026, pairing two distinct artistic approaches—from cinematic universes and emerging practice to image-making and visual storytelling. A wonderful opportunity to explore these two voices within the unique atmosphere of Nuit Blanche.
Art et jeux à tous les étages : programme à venir !
Among the headline events announced, the Super Kids Party invites children aged 3 to 10 to explore art and play on every floor, on Saturday June 6 and Sunday June 7, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The detailed activity program is forthcoming, but the concept already reflects the venue’s spirit: turning the space into a playground, both literally and figuratively. A smart option for families looking to add a cultural, light-hearted stop to their Nuit Blanche weekend, away from installations that only speak to adults.
The Lafayette Anticipations foundation sits at 9 rue du Plâtre, in the 4th arrondissement, just a short stroll from the Centre Pompidou and the City Hall. By metro, lines 1 and 11 (Hôtel de Ville or Rambuteau stations) provide easy access. Admission is free for individual visits, exhibitions, and family activities.
We recommend this leg for the whole family, but also for architecture enthusiasts who will enjoy exploring the building itself, as spectacular as the artworks it houses.
