After many years of anticipation, theAncienne Poste de Versailles is transformed into a cultural and events venue not to be missed. Completely renovated in 18 months, this emblematic building will become a multifunctional municipal venue for exhibitions, events and festive gatherings. When it opens in summer 2024, Versailles will enhance its cultural offering and breathe new life into a historic site in the heart of the city.
L'Ancienne Poste is located in the heart of Versailles, near Jules-Hardouin Mansart's Grande Écurie. The building is bright and spacious, with three floors of 650 m² each and a vast courtyard, making it an ideal place to live for both residents and tourists to the Château de Versailles.
The first floor is home to a traditional guinguette and food court, Sept Lieux, as well as a space dedicated to exhibitions and events on two levels, and a media library on the top floor.
The Ancienne Poste, built in 1963 by architect André Leconte, has a rich history. Initially a barracks, the site evolved over the centuries before becoming a postal center. The current transformation aims to make it an intergenerational and cultural meeting place. The history and architecture of the building, with its 90 bay windows and Saint-Leu stone, are enhanced by this new vocation.
Since September 20, 2025, the second floor, the media library, has provided a reading space for children and a place for students to work, under the management of the Versailles municipal library network. The media library is open on Sundays, to enable young Versailles residents to work. On that day, however, no loans or returns!

Within this space, we discover Sept Lieux, the lively gourmet spot imagined by 4 passionate Versailles residents , whose vocation is to energize local life:"We want to offer local residents a place to meet up and share convivial moments," explains Jonathan. Inspired by the success of their summer guinguettes, they now want to offer a welcoming, festive space all year round.
Sept Lieux promises a variety of events to attract a diverse audience, including :
In terms of catering, Sept Lieux innovates with several themed kiosks, managed by a chef and his team. The emphasis is on local produce, in collaboration with partners such as Brasserie Toussaint in Noisy le Roi and wine shop Lieu-dit on avenue de Saint-Cloud."We really want to work with local producers to offer quality products," says Charles-Antoine.
Open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday from 9am to midnight, and Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 2am.

With the Ancienne Poste reborn in a new guise, Versailles has a new cultural and festive center, where local gastronomy, varied entertainment and a convivial atmosphere come together to the delight of Versailles residents and visiting tourists alike.
