Halloween Kills, the second installment in David Gordon Green's Halloween trilogy, arrives on Netflix on October 20, 2026. Michael Myers continues his murderous spree as the people of Haddonfield unite to track him down.
The plot picks up right after the events of Halloween, released in 2018. Laurie Strode, her daughter Karen, and her granddaughter Allyson think they’ve trapped Michael Myers inside a burning house, but the killer somehow escapes the blaze.
Hospitalized for her injuries, Laurie learns that Michael is still alive. Meanwhile, several survivors of the 1978 attacks, including Tommy Doyle and Lindsey Wallace, rally the people of Haddonfield to put an end to his pursuit once and for all.
Directed by David Gordon Green, Halloween Kills brings together Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Anthony Michael Hall, and Kyle Richards. James Jude Courtney reprises the role of Michael Myers.
The film serves as the hinge of a trilogy that directly picks up from John Carpenter’s Halloween II: The Night of the Masks. This continuity sidelines the other sequels produced since 1978 to focus on Laurie Strode, her family, and the lasting aftermath of that first night of terror.
The story wraps up with Halloween Ends, the third film directed by David Gordon Green. Halloween Kills is notable for its ensemble narrative, expanding the confrontation to the residents of Haddonfield and the survivors of the original film.
Halloween Kills will be available on Netflix starting October 20, 2026, a few days before Halloween.
