Léa Mysius's Night Stories, featuring Hafsia Herzi, Benoît Magimel and Monica Bellucci, is in theaters as of September 16, 2026.

Stories of the Night, Léa Mysius's new film, hits cinemas in France on September 16, 2026. Adapted from Laurent Mauvignier's noir novel, this 1h54 thriller brings together Hafsia Herzi, Bastien Bouillon, Benoît Magimel and Monica Bellucci.

Nora and Thomas live with their daughter Ida on a remote farm in the Limousin. Their only neighbor is Cristina, an Italian painter who settled nearby. As the two households prepare a surprise birthday party for Nora, three men linger around the property before crashing the celebration.

Their arrival turns the party into a claustrophobic standoff and brings to light the secrets kept by the family. Through this intrusion, the story probes power dynamics, the cycle of violence, and the stories people tell themselves to live with their past.

After Ava and Les Cinq Diables, Léa Mysius makes her first foray into adapting a novel. Tawba El Gharchi, Paul Hamy, Alan Delhaye, Servane Ducorps and Tatia Tsuladze round out the cast.

Presented in the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival 2026, the film earned production designer Esther Mysius the CST Award for Young Technician. It is distributed in France by Le Pacte.
