The 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival will run from May 12–23, 2026. At the traditional press conference, the lineup for both competition and out-of-competition titles was unveiled. Among them, 22 films are in the running for the prestigious Palme d’Or!
The jury, chaired by Park Chan-wook, will face the daunting task of deciding which film in competition will take home the Palme d'Or 2026 on May 23. Beyond the Palme d'Or, several other prizes will be handed out at the festival's close, including the Grand Prix, the Best Director award, the Best Screenplay prize, the Jury Prize, and the acting honors for Best Actress and Best Actor.
So, will the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival 2026 be French, Hungarian, South Korean, Belgian, or perhaps Iranian? Without further ado, discover the 22 films in the running for the Palme d'Or 2026.
