Valeska Grisebach joins the official competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival with her third feature, The Dreamed Adventure.

The film L’Aventure rêvée by Valeska Grisebach is part of the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival 2026, which runs from May 12 to 23. Each year, the event attracts global attention due to its role in unveiling and elevating certain works that might otherwise go unnoticed, bringing them to a broad audience.

Presented soon on the Croisette, L'Aventure Rêvée is the third feature from the German director who stands among the new voices of the "new new wave" of German cinema. While her first film, Sehnsucht, was in competition at the Berlinale in 2006, this marks the first time that Valeska Grisebach will walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.

With this new feature film, the German director is in the running for the Palme d'Or 2026 and the other prestigious prizes that will be awarded after the 10 days of competition on the Croisette.
